Kitty Power: Contributing 2% for Women

Announcing a new phase for Better Kitty: We call it “Kitty Power”!

The mission of Better Kitty is “helping people improve their companion cats’ lives.” But through Kitty Power the cats will help people in return. Or you can think of this as ‘cats rescuing people’ rather than our rescuing the cats. As a female-owned small business, we feel an urgent need to ‘pay it forward’ for the amazing women who have enabled and inspired Better Kitty’s success.

So starting February 1st we will donate two percent of Better Kitty’s income to nonprofit groups. The charities we select will focus on improving the lives of women in the USA. We will choose a different charity each month, and a few will be highlighted in this blog. Some organizations will be local to the Pacific NW, but others will be from across the US.

Our goal is to give wherever the need is greatest, where we feel our dollars will have the most effect. We are most drawn to issues affecting women’s wellness, safety, and independence. Diversity is important to us, so we will choose charities serving the full variety of women: all races, classes, cultures, and so on.
